Where did it all start?
For generations, people have celebrated and cherished the healing and calming qualities of Rooibos tea, and over the past few years, more and more people have begun to discover the benefits of using Rooibosinfused products as part of their daily skincare routines. Initially, the spotlight was placed on Rooibos tea in South Africa, when Dr Annique Theron claimed it soothed away her baby’s colic. After that, researchers began considering and exploring the vast benefits of the Rooibos herb.
Rooibos as an anti-ageing ingredient
Recent studies have shown that using skin care products that include Rooibos as the main ingredient not only revitalises the skin, but also slows the ageing process. One of the main properties of Rooibos is zinc, which is believed to smooth and refine wrinkles making it the ideal ingredient to use in modern anti-ageing products.
Rooibos Heals and Soothes, Sensitive, Problem skin
Rooibos also has the ability to dramatically ease the redness and discomfort associated with severe acne, and to relieve the pain and irritation caused by skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis. No wonder it has often been referred to as the ‘wonder herb’.
Rooibos-inspired skincare ranges are perfectly suitable for people with sensitive skins too, as it contains no harmful chemicals or preservatives, so there is no risk of increased skin irritation or painful outbreaks.
